The Profile of an Eagle initiative was developed to answer an important question for our school community: What does it mean to be a Freeport Christian Academy Eagle? Inspired by the collaborative work of Lynbrook Public Schools and Molloy University on the Profile of an Owl, Freeport Christian Academy adapted this process to reflect our distinct Christian mission, values, and vision for student success. Through collaboration with school leadership, faculty, families, and educational partners, we identified the knowledge, skills, character, and Christ-centered dispositions that define an FCA graduate.
The Profile of an Eagle serves as a guide for teaching, learning, and school improvement, ensuring that every student graduates academically prepared, spiritually grounded, and equipped to serve God and others. It reflects our commitment to developing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, integrity in character, and compassion in service.
At the heart of the Profile of an Eagle are four essential competencies that prepare students to thrive in college, careers, ministry, and life:
- Creative and Critical Thinking – Eagles think deeply, solve problems creatively, evaluate information wisely, and make sound, biblical decisions.
- Real-Life Skills – Eagles develop practical life skills including communication, collaboration, leadership, financial responsibility, digital literacy, and adaptability to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
- Social-Emotional Learning – Eagles build healthy relationships, demonstrate empathy, practice self-awareness and self-management, and contribute positively to their school and community.
- Christlike Citizenship – Eagles reflect the love of Christ by showing kindness, fairness, integrity, and respect, treating every individual with dignity as they faithfully serve their communities and glorify God.
